There are 552,446,474,061,129,000,000,000,000 different possible bingo cards. Every 4,976,640,000 would have the same 24 numbers in different arrangements. With 6 billion people in the world today, that’s 92,074,412,343,521,400 for everyone in the world - plenty for every one.

Bingo can be traced back to the year 1530 in which a State run lottery game Lo Giuco de Lotto was created.

In France, Le Lotto dates back to the late 1700s. This game is more similar to the Bingo we know today, with a playing card, tokens and numbers read aloud. Throughout the 1800’s these lottery type of games spread quickly throughout Europe and many offshoots of the game were created.

In 1929, a New York salesman named Edwin Lowe observed the game where players exclaimed “BEANO!” if they filled a line of numbers on their card. Lowe introduced the game to his friends in New York where one of them mistakenly yelled “BINGO!” in her excitement . “Lowe’s Bingo” was soon very popular throughout the United States.Lo Giuco de Lotto is still held every Saturday in Italy.

Bingo Tips

Stay alert. Stay on your toes, because if you cover the pattern on B-7 but don’t yell “bingo” before the next number is called, you lose. For somebody who has spent all night at the tables, it’s a personal tragedy to “sleep a bingo.” (Somebody who hollers “bingo” after the next number has been called is known as a sleeper.)

Keep your wits about you. Some bingo halls serve
alcoholic drinks along with the usual assortment of snacks and refreshments. Enjoy in moderation, if that’s what you like, but always remember that alcohol can impair your judgment. Don’t rely on your bingo judgment to be the best under the influence of alcohol. You don’t want to wake up the next morning wondering what happened to that paycheck you just cashed!

Speak up. Don’t be afraid to call the caller. If it seems like the caller is whizzing through the numbers, you may be playing too many cards. But the caller could be new, or he or she may simply be tired and hoping to get the game done quickly. If you know you can play six faces comfortably but you’re having trouble keeping up, don’t be afraid to speak up.

The Worlds Largest Game Of Bingo!

4961544.gif
Thousands of Colombians gathered at Simon Bolivar’s Park in Bogota on Saturday to participate in the second edition of the “world’s largest bingo game”, hoping to leap into the record books again as they did last year.

The game was organized by Exito, the country’s biggest supermarket chain.

In December 2006, the Exito store won the Guinness World Record for the largest bingo game after succeeding to bring together some 70,080 participants.

Officials were yet to confirm whether this year’s attempt made a new world record.

“We won the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest game of bingo, beating the city of Los Angeles (United States), and tonight we are going to give that Guinness World Record to the city of Bogota (again),” said Jorge Jaller, an Exito store representative.

The event took place at 5:00 pm local time (17:00 ET) and saw dozens of Colombians return home happy with their Christmas gifts after more than 500 million pesos (about 250 thousand US dollars) were divided among the winners.

“I came here to have fun but I never thought of winning 50 million pesos, (about 25 thousand US dollars)” said Nelson Sandoval, one of the Bingo winners.

Appliances, vehicles and apartments were given away as gifts as well as bonuses to spend in Exito stores.

The bingo game finished with a display of fireworks.

Bingo Tips

1: Paper cards with lower card numbers (free space #) tend to have the numbers closer together card #1 (B-1, 2, 3, 4 & 5; I-16, 17, 18, 19 & 20). Longer games like Coveralls tend to draw numbers in sperts close together. 16 17 then 19 and 20 come out. To win more coveralls, try to come in early and get the first set of paper cards issued. On big nights managers stock the counter with plenty cards usually the ones on top are the lowest free space number cards. Check the next coverall for yourself. Notice the flashboard. Lighted up numbers usually in sets by the 30′th number called.

2: Never play more cards than you can watch, be careful of “play all you want for $” you’ll end up going nuts trying to watch all your cards!!!

3: Never bang while you are dabbing, dabbers work better if you dab lightly. If you bang hard chances are your dabber will leak.

Don’t Forget Your Dauber!

When the bingo caller is calling out the numbers, the last thing any bingo player needs is dauber failure! This can be a disaster of ultimate proportions. No player will be in the least popular if they start scrambling around in mid game to find something to mark off their numbers with. So many bingo players take steps to make absolutely sure that no matter what happens, they have a dauber with them that works!

This phenomenon has triggered another craze for bingo dauber supplies. Every bingo player has a favorite type of dauber, and every bingo player takes pains to keep a healthy number of fresh, working daubers on hand at any time. Some players prefer certain colors, and for some bingo players a particular brand of bingo dauber supplies may constitute a lucky charm.

Whatever the case, each bingo player develops an individual style and will hunt down a good source of bingo dauber supplies that fits the bill. If you are new to the game, you will want to get up to speed on this aspect of being a successful bingo player as soon as possible. You can ask your fellow bingo players for input, or you can base your decisions on what you find on the Internet.

Sooner or later, you’ll identify your own special bingo dauber supplies source. You may find it helpful to know that bingo daubers can also be referred to as markers or dabbers. They’re all the same thing. It’s merely a matter of terminology. Don’t forget to also choose an eye-catching dauber bag to hold your bingo dauber supplies.

Bingo Shutter Cards

The Deluxe Heavy Thickness Shutter Card

Bingo Shutter Cards for Elderly and Children
Sometimes running bingo games for elderly people in senior citizens homes or day care centers can be difficult. You have to provide equipment that can easily be handled by hands that aren’t so nimble as they once were. In addition, often eyesight isn’t what it once was either. So anything you can do to help elderly bingo players’ play their game without any hitches, will ultimately make your job easier and the game much more fun for everyone.

Bingo shutter cards are the perfect answer. They have shutters that cover large, easy to read numbers. This entirely eliminates the need for markers that may be difficult to use, and may be a source of mess too. Bingo shutter cards are brightly colored and fun to use. In the bargain, they can be wiped over for cleanliness and will last a long time too.
Bingo Shutter Cards are Easy to Read.

Often the numbers on bingo shutter cards are around half and inch high, so they can easily be read even with someone who has serious sight problems. This means they are also perfect for young children if you are planning them for use in a school setting for use with one of the ingenious educational bingo games around. With children, the fact that bingo shutter cards can be wiped clean is even more of an advantage!

Again, with children bingo shutter cards offer the opportunity to play bingo without the need for markers, which are often messy and inconvenient in the hands of children. Markers can also prove a bit of a diversion sometimes. Bingo shutter cards can help to make sure everyone keeps their mind on the game.

Bingo Cages

Important Bingo Equipment

If you’re equipping a new bingo hall, or want to provide a bingo facility at a community center or some other type of center or medical facility, then you’ll want to know all about the bingo equipment you’ll need to have a great game of bingo. Among the most important items are bingo cages or bingo cage sets. Bingo cages are ideal for a less expensive setup if you find the prospect of a blower too much of a drain on your budget. That is unless you are looking at automatic bingo cages, which can set you back sever hundred dollars. Although this type of more expensive equipment may be an option further down the road once your operation has covered some of the initial costs, you will probably want to start off without spending that kind of money. There are a variety of great models of manual bingo cages.

Inexpensive Bingo Cages

Some of them are rubberized and some of them are made from steel wire. You can get several different qualities and sizes. Basically, decide how much you want to pay and you can easily find bingo cages to match that budget. There’s no need to spend a great deal at all.
It’s worth remembering that bingo cages can also be used for raffle draws if you’re buying them to equip a community that regularly has other fundraising activities, such as a church for example. It’s always nice to acquire a piece of equipment that can serve two purposes, especially if you’re in the fundraising business.

Bingo Paper…What is it?

What is Bingo Paper?
Another essential part of any bingo game, whether it’s a small social event or a large commercial enterprise, is bingo cards. These can come in two forms. Either a permanent, laminated card, which is reused by players, or a disposable type of bingo card. These are sold in sheets and are known as bingo card paper.

Once a player has his or her bingo card paper and the game begins, the caller will call the numbers and each player will cross off any numbers that are called that are listed on the bingo card paper. The first player to get a straight line of numbers, or in some cases, a number in each corner, will call out bingo. Once the numbers have been verified, then he or she is a winner.

Checking Your Bingo Card Paper
The process of checking bingo card paper by a floor checker is essential, not only to eliminate cheating, but to satisfy all the other players that the player really is the winner. This keeps bingo games friendly, and thwarts even the worst losers! Sometimes it happens that there is more than one winner to a bingo game. In this case, prize money is split equally.

Some players buy more bingo card paper in the hope of increasing their chance of winning. A good tip is never to buy more than you can effectively watch, otherwise you run the risk of missing your winning numbers anyway. You may well be making the game a lot more expensive than it needs to be and certainly a lot more stressful. To increase your chances of winning, pick a game that doesn’t have too many players. A packed bingo hall means less chance of winning.

Bingo Blowers

libertyblower.jpg
Blower - The Liberty Blower And Stand

The Bingo Game Symbol?
For most of us who are not bingo enthusiasts, an abiding impression of the game is the ubiquitous bingo blowers used to select each ball by the bingo caller. I for one, was quite surprised to find that lots of bingo callers use cages to choose their numbers instead of bingo blowers. There is a lot more to this game than meets the eye! When buying bingo blowers, bear in mind that different states have different laws pertaining to the game, but that most of them have specific guidelines about how bingo balls are to be chosen, and relating to how balls are to be displayed so that players can see them. Before buying bingo blowers or some other method of drawing your balls and displaying them, it’s a good idea to familiarize with the rules for your area to make sure you’re doing it right.

New Types of Bingo Blowers
For a really outstanding presentation of your bingo games, consider one of the new “all in one” bingo consoles which include bingo blowers as well as computerized facilities such as hall monitors, card verification and other product verification. Some of these units can add a touch of showmanship to your game as well as enhancing bingo security.

You can get manual or automatic bingo blowers depending on what you need. Almost undoubtedly, to begin with your choice of bingo blowers will be limited by budget. But it’s worth getting the flashiest machine you can find to add spice to the atmosphere in your bingo hall.
